The risk Score, returned by the keysender service, represents the likelihood that a given transaction is fraudulent. Online businesses use the risk Score to determine whether to accept, reject, or manually review online transactions.
How it works?
First You have to turn on fraud screening, You can find it at item details page.
Once it’s on, system is ready for action. From now buyer after purchase will receive system email right after purchase:
Transaction status at that point is verification
Right after buyer clicks the status link, fraud score is measured and depending on Your setup, codes are revealed or awaits your manual review.
What if buyer did not receive an e-mail?
Simply enter transaction details and find option “Re-send fraud check”, at pop up window you can edit customer E-mail or copy status link and send it to him directly via inbox or other message system.
The risk Score is built using a combination of machine learning models and human review of network-wide fraud patterns.
Some of the features that go into the risk score are:
- Reputation of IP addresses, email addresses, billing addresses, phone numbers and devices
- Velocity analysis specific to your business and across the network
- IP address analysis including proxy detection and geolocation checks
- Fraud/not fraud reports
The risk Score is a signal as to whether an online transaction is risky for your business. Determining the thresholds you set for different actions requires fine tuning over time. We recommend first considering the cost of fraud and potentially lost goods or services, the cost of manual review, and the cost of rejecting good transactions. The risk strategy relevant to your business may mean more or less tolerance for risk as you begin using the risk Score.
One possible strategy is to at first only automatically accept transactions under a low riskScore (e.g., 10.00), only reject orders above a high riskScore (e.g., 61.00 and above), and manually review all other transactions.
Can I customise fraud score e-mail?
